* #Chicago has never had “dry heat” in the summer. You can usually expect it to be very humid in August. (Although this week is forecast to be unusually nice weather.)

* The #Pedway connects underground RTA train stops and various parts of the city. It’s clean, safe, has public BATHROOMS (usually), and provides a cool walk in hot weather. Look for the yellow compass symbol above and below street level.

I'm out in the suburbs. Today is supposed to be rather rainy for most of the morning. But if it gets to be too wet for you, then ask around...

Many of the locals can direct you to the #Pedway -- an underground walkway through various parts of downtown #Chicago . Some sections of the Pedway are just long empty hallways, but many others have stores and shops.

Most connect the underground subway/"L" #trains stops to one another. They all tend to be very safe and clean. One route has an entrance in Macy's basement.

Look for the symbol for the Pedway and follow wherever your whim leads you.

For a young man, it can be a fun adventure to explore a city from a new angle.
