Just as many #pedestrians pass me by. Will we live to see a time when folks finally learn to make decisions for the good of us all?

Helsinki officially opens Finland’s longest bridge.

Finland’s longest and highest bridge, Helsinki’s new Kruunuvuori Bridge, officially opened to the public on Saturday.

It links Kruunuvuorenranta in the eastern suburb of Laajasalo with central Helsinki.

The nearly 1200-metre long bridge is said to be the longest bridge in the world that exclusively serves pedestrians, cyclists and trams.

My #urbanism stems from one guiding moral and ethical principle: that all the living are equal in dignity and entitled to an equal claim on the use of Nature and public space.

Motor vehicles do not have rights, only living human beings have rights in #society; therefore, cars must always yield to more vulnerable road users—#bicyclists, #pedestrians, and #disabled people.

There is an obligation for #urban #design to focus first on #accessibility, comfort, and convenience for human beings.
