Officials say the bridge will remain open to pedestrians but will be closed to vehicles until further notice due to high water levels on the Rivière des Prairies.

We're in a global #oil #shortage right now... and what a surprise, auto owners don't seem to care. #fuel prices are on the roof, but no increase in the number of #bikes running across the cities, #trams and #buses carry the same passengers they always have. Just as many #pedestrians pass me by. Will we live to see a time when folks finally learn to make decisions for the good of us all?

Please go buy yourself some sense, get off from the f- car and start using the #publictransport for once.

Manila is pretty hostile to pedestrians, but still even when the pavement is busted and dusted (or more often, doesn't exist at all) we walk! #manila #mandaluyong #pedestrians #pavement #sidewalks

My #urbanism stems from one guiding moral and ethical principle: that all the living are equal in dignity and entitled to an equal claim on the use of Nature and public space.

Motor vehicles do not have rights, only living human beings have rights in #society; therefore, cars must always yield to more vulnerable road users—#bicyclists, #pedestrians, and #disabled people.

There is an obligation for #urban #design to focus first on #accessibility, comfort, and convenience for human beings.
