Drummers are seriously goofy, I mean look at what they're doing. They try acting serious in hopes no one will grab away their favorite implements, and they'll use anything besides a drumstick so you can't easily know they're drummers. But they are. And having a laugh riot never moreso than when the audience sits rapt and pensive. Of course, they're really insanely good at it too, but still. When there's more than one drummer, the collective noun is "a corps" and that cracks them up too, or rather, it reminds them to cement their deceptive grimmace keeping the plain ridiculousness of it all to themselves. The triumvirate Jordan Glenn, Sudhu Tewari and Matt Robidoux are virtuosi of the grim visage. Don't let them get away with it, come laugh and cheer and point at Flatways inside the Peacock Lounge!

20 years ago to the day I first met MikeD of Ratskin/Malocculsion/Nerfbau/Styrofoam Sanchez. Ask me how I know the date? Oct. 20, 2005 was the first release party for a new label I launched with Hans Grusel: Resipiscent. Mike showed up at Hotel Utah, super supportive as all who know him will attest, and he said he was launching his own new label too, Ratskin Records!

Seems uncanny then that TODAY we're announcing a Ratskin Records takeover of the Peacock Lounge on Nov. 13 feat Ratskin artists some of whom are on Resipiscent as well, Loachfillet being one and I had to cajole Mike into playing a special, brief, Nerfbau solo set. He'll go first so DON'T BE LATE!
