John M. GambleI'm not happy Shopify buttons (the purplish "Shop" button) are showing up on some sites that I've made purchases from.
Worse, the layout is such that it becomes the default method of payment. I had to back out of the check-out process at one site and force it to use the payment method that I wanted, which I can't see an average shopper doing.
It's a bad company run by bad people, and I really don't like having to jump through hoops to avoid using them.

C.Credit card companies in Canada (and elsewhere) have been imposing draconian restrictions on the use of their payment networks for anything even slightly racy -- digital Puritanism, enforced by a handful of companies that have a combined monopoly stranglehold on payment systems.
Risque video content? Racy text? Erotic drawings? All forbidden to one degree or another, by un-elected moral crusaders that you simply can't choose to not use. If you're a content creator depending on payments / subscriptions, you can be demonitized instantly, with no explanation and no recourse, at any moment. Goodbye, income!
This petition isn't perfect - it's written solely from the point of view of someone concerned with the effects on the videogame market, not any other type of content creator - but it's a start. If you're in Canada and want payment processors to not engage in such discriminatory practices, take a look at this (brief) petition and consider signing it.

- I worked for a #PaymentProcessor that basically did payments for #NSFW websites, and the only reason #CreditCards haven't been yeeted in favour of #Monero is because they make #AdultContent consumption frictionless and easy even in regulated markets like #Germany that have mandatory #AgeVerification for "#AdultContent" (tho merely applying to domestic providers!)...
Once said CCs cancel their pseudonymus #AVS option merely using CC numbers and/or refuse to process payments for pr0n they gonna bite the dust.
- Cuz as payful as #MICAR et. al. may be, #NowPayments is way easier to deal with than #AMEX, VISA, MasterCard or god forbid #PayPal…
