I can smell this an it’s divine! #covid19 #paxlovidrebound
Still not king. Sigh. #CovidRebound #PaxlovidRebound #Covid
Day three of paxlovid. I have a constant and strong metallic taste in my mouth. It makes orange juice taste weird, but can be ameliorated by candies or flavoured fizzy water. I awoke in the middle of the night with another side effect: painful diarrhea. Otherwise, my COVID symptoms have calmed a lot and I was able to get a good amount of writing done yesterday. I’m listening to my body and taking it really easy. I’m napping when tired, and spending the rest of my time sitting or lying down. I went out into the yard briefly to get some fresh air. I came back inside as soon as I felt tired. I’m not looking forward to paxlovid rebound, but know it is likely coming once I’m through the meds. #covid #paxlovid #PaxlovidRebound

Whelp, I tested very positive for #covid and am starting ANOTHER 10 day isolation period (after already isolating for 14 days because I only started testing negative a few days ago). Thank goodness I knew #PaxlovidRebound was possible and stayed in isolation an extra day, it would have sucked to infect someone in my family because I came out too soon.

Also not regretting the Costco super size pack of Covid tests I bought a few months ago. A family of five with an active infection burns through those QUICK.

@elizabethtasker It is interesting. Had a similar result. Took 5 days of Paxlovid. Had clear, but faint results for the first three days and strong control lines. Then it went negative for two days, again strong control line. Then I got moderate "head cold" symptoms mostly sinus congestion and the Covid test went bright magenta with the control line almost non-existent. That lasted for a week before symptoms faded and eventually the positives did too.

@paninid #paxlovidRebound is when, after taking a course of #paxlovid and feeling improved & finally testing negative, there is a rebound of symptoms & testing positive again. Can happen anywhere between 2-10 days after. For me, it was testing negative for 2 days, then the rebound for a second round of symptoms & positive tests that lasted 5 additional days (it felt like being sick twice).

Doc told me it was more common than they wished. But the med still kept my symptoms from being worse

@tylerzonia I just finished a round of Paxlovid and had not even heard of #PaxlovidRebound.

What is THAT?

Does anyone know whether it’s still a good idea to take #Paxlovid if one catches covid again if one had #paxlovidRebound the first time around? #MedMastodon #CovidIsNotOver #COVID19
I tested Negative this morning for #Covid19 but I still feel crap and I'm aware of #PaxlovidRebound so will retest further on in the week. I'm still going to rest and take it easy as advised.
