Today: during #hedgewatch on #Fuerteventura we found this #granite who was greeting us with a #heart made of #feldspar - interior & rim are made of feldspar. The other #mineral's are #quartz & #mica.

Today: during #hedgewatch in #Switzerland we found this deformed #rock. It underwent #ductil #deformation so that this #fold made of #quartz formed. During deformation material can move from the limbs to the hinge so that the hinge becomes thicker.

Today #GeologyWithCats. We found during #hedgewatch many #quartz veins at the #Rosstrape. They formed when #silica rich fluids circulated in #fractures that formed during cooling of the Ramberg #pluton & are now remnants of a #geothermal system.
