#DutchColonialism has its fair share of sickening massacres. On #ThisDayInHistory in 1643, settlers from #NewNetherlands colony slaughtered ~120 #indigenous #Lenape people in the #PavoniaMassacre in what is now #NewJersey. A Dutch eyewitness spoke of "infants...hacked to pieces".
