Je crois que tout le monde est désormais au courant : Starship Troopers une satire du roman militariste et fascisant de Robert Heinlein.
Mais avec le temps, est-ce que cette satire de Verhoeven ne se serait pas fait dévorer l'imaginaire qu'il dénonce pourtant brillamment ?

The protagonist "waking up" with amnesia, putting the pieces of a puzzle together while staying in a hotel filled with clues, a call from a strange contact, a dive bar, and an evil corporation. The only downside is that you can't re-watch it for the first time again.

Total Recall turns 36 years old today. It premiered back in 1990.
Based off "We Can Remember It for You Wholesale" penned by Philip K. Dick, it earned $260+ million dollars.
It did get a 2012 remake, but I think it's safe to say the original is better received.
In honour of Total Recall, I'll be posting one or two follow-up videos.

B-Movie EnemaB-Movie Enema's original "magnum opus" - Showgirls. This is one of those movies that I think is so bad it's good. It's certainly gained a cult following in the years since 1995 and has found a very specific niche in the LGBTQ+ community which I find very nice.

Irene, antifascistBijna twee weken geleden zag ik de film Het meisje met het rode haar van Ben Verbong. Indrukwekkend.
Nu zappte ik naar Zwartboek en bleef dus kijken. Tien minuten, niet meer.
Het verschil ontplofte in mijn gezicht: het sexy, spannende beeld van oorlog versus doorvoelde oorlog met al zijn drama's en dilemma's.
Ik snap dat #PaulVerhoeven het maakte in de VS en #BenVerbong gelukkig niet.
Godzijgeloofdengeprezen.
