A little story goes with today's ear worm.

In the 80s I'd moved away from home to the area I now live, on my own. My best friend from home moved here a while later. We shared an apartment on Alamo Square and would do acid or E on Friday nights and watch PeeWee's Playhouse while coming down on Saturday mornings. I've always been a fan of Paul Reubens' character and believed he was done dirty in the porn theater thing. But I didn't know the full extent of what happened to him until I watched PeeWee As Himself on Max yesterday. Now I'm hyperfixated on him and feel like a close friend died. Homophobia and fucking cops did him dirty and he didn't deserve what happened to him. He was an iconic genius. So I woke up with the PeeWee's Playhouse theme in my head this morning and now I'm passing it along.

"Long live Jambi!"....and unfortunately that didn't happen in the long run. #RIP John Paragon.
The theater version of #PeeWee 's Playhouse didn't reprise Fishburn as Cowboy Curtis, but this one was good. And now I know where Captain Kangaroo's Dancing Bear went--darn sure that was him as just "Bear". Looking for that biopic of #PaulRubens on #HBO.

...and TIL that this is the very day when Captain Kangaroo artifacts went up for auction and the Dancing Bear costume was sold for $207,109...but I couldn't tell you what year it was because the blog that mentioned it is undated, speaking of the auction as if it was held the year the blog page was written, whenever that was.

The first image is the complete cast of Broadway's Pee Wee, with Bear 'way in the back and that was the best pic I could find of him; the other is from Captain Kangaroo with Dancing Bear, Mr. Green Jeans, Mr. Moose, Bunny Rabbit, and of course the Captain himself. I notice that Pee Wee's Bear wears an orange hat, where the Captain's Dancing Bear wears a green one. Still, Bear is a dead ringer for Dancing Bear.

Ein wirklich besonderes Aquarellfarbenset von Paul Rubens in dem gleich 5 Farben Pigmente beinhalten, die es schon lange nicht mehr gibt, darunter das Original Quinacridone gold (wenn auch leider nur in zwei Grüntönen, alle anderen besonderen Pigmente sind Einzel Pigmentfarben).
