A couple of weeks ago, after the big Reichsbürger raids across Germany, I went crazy and translated three articles for Belltower in a couple of days in the hope that English-speaking people would have access to some points that were being overlooked elsewhere. Now that the story has already been generally forgotten, it seems like a good time to re-post and remind people that the network that got busted included a number of current and former cops and soldiers (including special forces) who were armed and had plans to storm the Bundestag (German parliament). One member was a sitting judge and former member of the Bundestag (AfD, of course). So this was not a small thing, despite the right's emphasis since then on the relative few weapons seized.
At any rate, here's one article breaking down many of the key players: https://www.belltower.news/patriotic-union-a-prince-an-afd-judge-and-a-police-superintendent-planned-the-coup-144157/
Here's another on the "prince" who was to be their head of state after their big takeover: https://www.belltower.news/reichsbuerger-raids-the-prince-who-would-rule-germany-144161/
I'm not sure why Belltower hasn't yet published the third article, which was kind of an explainer on the history of the Reichsbürger movement, but it'll be worth reading, for those who aren't familiar, whenever they get around to posting it.
PS: If anyone would be interested in co-authoring an article about the symmetries between the Reichsbürger movement and the "sovereign citizens" in the US, please hit me up. The overlaps are many and fascinating, despite the very different contexts they emerged in. People make blithe, passing comparisons between them fairly often, which I generally find insufficient. A thorough look at the two side-by-side is long overdue, I'm just not sure I'm up to it on my own right now.
