When I was 10 or 11 I had a short story published in a small Irish anthology. It was launched by Pat Ingoldsby and he was full of kindness and creativity. I knew him then as a children's TV presenter; later I read his poems and loved their fierce honesty and empathy. RIP, Pat

I’m remembering today, as an asthmatic child who’d a number of bad chest doses between ages 6 and 12, watching Pat Ingoldsby on his RTÉ TV show, as he takes out his blue inhaler, upturns it to the camera, and transforms it into a submarine periscope. 💚 #PatIngoldsby #Ireland #Legend
