I recently added “Bildschirmspiel 01” from 1979 to #PocketCollection. It’s the only home gaming console that was ever developed and released in the German Democratic Republic. Despite Western embargo on higher technologies, the #GDR managed to import Pong's AY-3-8500 integrated circuit as basis for the “BSS 01”. Only 1000 units were produced, so it was – and is – quiet rare.

It reminds me more than anything else of the lil’ wonder Chris Maltby worked when he created #GBStudio to let people like me bring their ideas to a piece of 36 years old hardware. 🖤
