one of the finest violin works of 17thC, var over a 4-note bass line, the crown jewel of the collection of sonatas known as the #RosarySonatas; these works come down to us from the single surviving copy of a ms in Munich. Each work in the source known as the "Rosary" or "Mystery" sonatas has a unique, engraved emblem; the Passacaglia has the guardian angel.
