Maybe not all of us can agree on paper straws being the worst, but #PaperStraws really are trash and an attack on disabled people

#PaperStraws are a different kind of awful on the planet compared to #PlasticStraws. They're both terrible on our #environment.
I would absolutely recommend #SteelStraws as they are infinitely reusable.
Yeah they're not comfortable for hot drinks, but I think that's an issue we should look into fixing about them, instead of avoiding them.

A new European study has found that 90% of so-called eco-friendly paper straws contain “forever chemicals,” compounds that don’t – or barely – break down and can accumulate in our bodies, leading to health problems. The findings are consistent with results from a recent US study.
Paper straws suck usability-wise and accessibility-wise, but at least they're good for the environment, right? Right?...
Wrong.
Turns out, they contain PFAS, which are known as "forever chemicals", meaning they break down very slowly over time. That means that paper straws are potentially not biodegradable. Steel straws were the only ones where PFAS were not detected.
