Police unions in Alameda and Oakland have each contributed $10,000 to the campaign to recall District Attorney Price, according to a report in the East Bay Insiders Newsletter. The newsletter also stated that the Alameda County Prosecutors' Association added another $40,000 to the recall effort.

Joseph Roberts was sentenced to 15 years to life for the murder of Rachel Elizabeth Imani Buckner following the discovery of her body on Bay Farm Island last year. The 15 years to life sentence was the maximum penalty allowed, due to the nature of the evidence and the circumstances of the case.
