Because we get asked a lot. The Technological Republic, in brief. 1. Silicon Valley owes a moral debt to the country that made its rise possible. The engineering elite of Silicon Valley has an affirmative obligation to participate in the defense of the nation. 2. We must rebel

It's kind of irritating seeing weasles llke this try to act sly. No, #AlexKarp - #Palentir isn't "like a cult", Palentir is apart of the #SiliconValley cult.

It's primed by sycophantic industries peddling motivational books & speakers, networked at galas, parties, the odd island, where they do debauched, hedonistic and narcissistic things.

They just want the cover of #war to hide their sinful, disgusting ways - and to profit

Palantir Issues Ominous Corporate Manifesto

A summary of Palantir CEO Alex Karp's book put the firm and its controversial leader's ominous worldview in stark relief.

Futurism

Wow. From the article:

Palentir's post ends by criticizing “the shallow temptation of a vacant and hollow pluralism.”

In Palantir’s argument, a blind devotion to pluralism and inclusivity “glosses over the fact that certain cultures and indeed subcultures . . . have produced wonders. Others have proven middling, and worse, regressive and harmful.”

Palentir and the NHS

The FT has slipped up here - publishing a whitewashing article regarding Palentir and the (English) NHS -part of the companies attempts to avoid questions on (a) how effective the software is (2) how safe the data is given it is an American company and I can guarantee some of it will be exported and (3) lockin. The comments are worth a read - especially the one highlighted.

Palentir and the NHS

The UK had a troubled relationship with Palantir before the contract was awarded, with privacy fears and worries over Palantir's relationship with the US government. Since its adoption, some care boards have delayed their implementations due to an unwillingness to use the system, and the British Medical Association has called for doctors to stop using it over Palantir's recent work with ICE on its deportation efforts.

I was asked to participate in a large study (there are more than 2M participants at the moment) and before agreeing - it looks like a good Idea, I made some enquiries about data use and sharing, and it was not all obvious from the FAQ. Any changes will be notified.

I had a response very quickly, I wonder whether they get this more often than their FAQ suggests? 🤔

"The American entrepreneur and investor Peter Thiel has traveled to Rome to host a closed-door lecture series on the Antichrist, mixing theology with technology and politics. The event, held near Vatican City, drew criticism from Catholic figures and institutions, many of whom rejected his ideas as extreme. The visit has underscored tensions between his techno-libertarian worldview and the Church’s more cautious stance on AI and global governance. So what's behind Thiel's fascination with the antichrist? With analysis from Fritz Espenlaub, host of the six-part Deutschlandfunk podcast series Die Peter Thiel Story, and Vatican expert Massimo Faggioli from Trinity College Dublin."—DW News
