Dice che c’è una “grande mafia del Pakistan”, che i due fermati erano caporali a caccia di soldi per il trasporto e pronti a trattenere buona parte del loro già misero salario. È un testimone chiave della strage di Amendolara, dove 4 braccianti sono stati bruciati vivi da due pachistani in un minivan, perché lui era lì dentro. Sopravvissuto. Ancora in grado di raccontare perché è riuscito a rompere il finestrino a suon di testate. L’unico a uscire vivo da un inferno del quale porta ancora i segni addosso.
È un bracciante afgano, regolare in Italia, che con le quattro vittime condivideva tutto. Il lavoro, la casa a Villapiana e i soprusi dei due fermati dalla procura di Castrovillari, che coordina il lavoro della Mobile di Cosenza e dei carabinieri, per il quadruplice omicidio. Erano due caporali, lascia intendere nel suo racconto consegnato ai microfoni del Tg1 e della TgR Calabria. In un italiano stentato ha raccontato che tre vittime erano afghane, non pachistani come ipotizzato finora, e che i due fermati erano coloro che volevano dei soldi per il trasporto, che le vittime non volevano dare.
La strage dunque sarebbe stata una sorta di vendetta, la punizione finale per aver alzato la testa. Di fronte al rifiuto dei cinque all’interno del van, ha raccontato, i due hanno gettato prima la benzina nell’abitacolo e poi hanno appiccato il fuoco con un accendino, bruciando vivi i quattro migranti. Lui è riuscito a fuggire rompendo un finestrino. All’indomani ha ancora le braccia fasciate per le ustioni.
L’uomo ha anche aggiunto che i cittadini pakistani minacciavano lui e gli altri con coltelli e pistole per farlo lavorare e che non li pagavano: “I soldi non ce li davano, da mangiare sì, la casa sì ma i soldi no”. Quindi ha aggiunto che nel suo settore di lavoro, nelle campagne tra Basilicata e Calabria dove in questo periodo si coltivano soprattutto fragole, c’è una “grande mafia del Pakistan”.

Prima hanno appiccato il fuoco all’interno del minivan e poi hanno bloccato le portiere per impedire alle vittime di scappare. Così sono stati bruciati vivi i quattro pakistani trovati carbonizzati lunedì ad Amendolara, in provincia di Cosenza, sotto la tettoia della stazione di servizio lungo la statale 106. I morti sono tutti pakistani, braccianti agricoli impiegati nei campi della Sibaritide e diretti verso la Piana del Metapontino, nel Materano.
In poche ore la Procura di Castrovillari e la polizia ha riscontrato i primi sospetti che la tragedia potesse essere collegata a un regolamento di conti negli ambienti degli extracomunitari. La svolta è arrivata grazie un video in cui si vedono due uomini, anche loro pakistani, che poco prima del rogo erano a bordo del mezzo. Stando al filmato registrato dalle telecamere di videosorveglianza, quindi, vittime e assassini si conoscevano e viaggiavano assieme.
Almeno fino a quando, parcheggiata l’auto a pochi metri dalla pompa di benzina, due di loro sono usciti mentre le fiamme invadevano l’interno del minivan. Piuttosto che aiutare gli altri a mettersi in salvo i due pakistani hanno bloccato le portiere impedendo la fuga degli altri connazionali che, a causa delle fiamme, si dimenavano. Circostanza questa che emerge chiaramente dal movimento del mezzo quando i due presunti assassini erano ancora sulla scena dell’omicidio plurimo. Delitto che, per le modalità atroci, è stato senza dubbio premeditato dai pakistani raggiunti durante la notte da un provvedimento di fermo al termine di un lungo interrogatorio a cui sono stati sottoposti in questura a Cosenza.

This circumstance emerges clearly from the movement of the vehicle when the two suspected assassins were still on the scene of the multiple murder. The crime, due to its atrocious methods, was undoubtedly premeditated by the Pakistanis, who were apprehended during the night following a warrant issued at the end of a long interrogation conducted at the police station in Cosenza.

Un accordo parziale nelle prossime 48 ore "è improbabile", scrive il sito, ma questo tentativo in extremis è l'unica possibilità di evitare una drammatica escalation nella guerra.
Come scrive il sito Axios che per primo ha dato i dettagli delle trattative in corso, la proposta che Iran e Stati Uniti stanno discutendo attraverso i mediatori regionali prevede due fasi, con una tregua di 45 giorni da usare per arrivare a un accordo finale di vera pace. E solo il testo di un'intesa duratura affronterebbe il tema della riapertura completa di Hormuz così come quello dell'uranio arricchito che Teheran possiede.

Ecco le immagini del barcone che si è ribaltato nel Mediterraneo. A bordo, secondo il racconto dei 32 superstiti, salvati in area Sar libica dalla guardia costiera italiana, c’erano 110 persone. Ci sarebbero quindi oltre 70 dispersi.
I militari hanno recuperato anche due cadaveri: a bordo dell’imbarcazione, un barcone di 12-15 metri salpato da Tripoli, in Libia, c’erano soprattutto Pakistani, Bengalesi ed Egiziani. I migranti sono rimasti in acqua per diverso tempo prima di essere intercettati e soccorsi. Arrivati al molo Favarolo di Lampedusa, i sopravvissuti hanno raccontato di essere partiti in molti di più.
