Yeah, #ALDI is extremely German and that's how they are growing in the #USA:

  • efficient
  • affordable
  • fast
  • good
  • no bullshit

And #USians finally learn the benefits of that, as #Greedflation kicks in and they need to make due with shrinking net income...

Am I the only one cringing out about the things that #CNBC lists as negatives?

  • Yes you have to bring your own bag or buy one, but those #ShoppingBags at ALDI actually are useful for more than one trip and maybe bunding up trash.
  • The quarter deposit rewards people to put their shopping carts back where they picked them up
  • You ain't supposed to hang out in an ALDI: You go in, grab what you want, checkout, bag your stuff yourself and get home. This isn't an #IKEA!
  • Less selection means less overhead and thus more streamlined operations.
  • ALDI doesn't treat their staff like disposable items or trash.

Seriously, all that "#ServiceCulture" demanded is absurd #cringe because in the #US people ain't willing nor able to pay for that!

Repealing paid sick leave endangers rural Missouri families and hospitals • Missouri Independent

On Aug. 28, Missouri officially repealed a voter-approved paid sick leave law. It will have serious consequences for rural health care.

Missouri Independent

A grassroots movement perspective on the deterioration in #Missouri politics - how talking to (or trying to talk to) state legislators has changed with increased gerrymandering and donor influence. Particularly on the tentacles of the Missouri #ChamberOfCommerce, so evident in the unpopular legislation that repealed the requirement for #PaidSickLeave passed by ballot initiative.

An interview with Missouri's Jobs with Justice Richard Glahn:

We talked to Richard von Glahn of Missouri Jobs with Justice about the legislature overruling the will of the people to eliminate paid sick leave.

@tinker I do point these things out to folks from the #USA as well as tools to calculate their actual net payout (i.e. https://nettolohn.de for #Germany) as well as the fact that most things here are #mandatory, not "#perks" like #AffordableHealthcare, #PTO / #PaidVacationLeave, #PaidSickLeave, #PensionFunds, etc. and that these are 100% #transferable across employers and not tied to a specific employment. (I.e. your remaining PTO does transfer!)

  • OFC employers may offer benefits on top of that like a company car they can use as an individual (tho they'd have to pay tax on that -> #NotTaxAdvice / #NotFinancialAdvice!), or subsidized #PublicTransport tickets or just terms that are better than the legally mandated minimums.

Granted, #CostOfLiving in the #USA have gone so absurdly high and #wages have stagnated so hard that >50% of the people there literally can't afford to survive there!
