At today’s #MED9 Meeting of Interior Ministers in Rovinj 🇭🇷, I was pleased to join discussions on how Europe and its Mediterranean partners can work more closely together on shared security challenges.

Thank you to Minister @DavorBozinovic and Croatia 🇭🇷 for convening this important meeting at a critical time for our region.

Europe’s security and stability are closely linked to those of our Mediterranean neighbourhood. Through the #PactfortheMediterranean, we are strengthening cooperation on migration management, border protection, the fight against organised crime, and security - together with our partners and 🇪🇺 agencies, including @Europol and @Frontex.

With @Eurojust President Schmid and Director Jamin, we discussed strengthening EU–Mediterranean judicial cooperation.

Under the #PactfortheMediterranean, stronger cooperation between judicial authorities, law enforcement and EU agencies is key to tackling organised crime, migrant smuggling and terrorism.

We are advancing our programme @EuroMedJustice, focusing on dialogue, joint training and operational cooperation.

Stronger coordination with @Europol is also key.

At today’s #FAC, we discussed the latest developments in the Middle East.

🇪🇺–GCC: strengthening our strategic partnership, advancing preparations for the Summit.

🇵🇸: The situation in Gaza remains extremely serious. We continue work on an early recovery package, which requires safe and unhindered humanitarian access.

🇸🇾: today is a historic day. We take a step forward from crisis to recovery for Syria. Reconstruction will require strong international coordination and private investment.

🇩🇿, 🇹🇷, 🇯🇴: Last week’s visits focused on stability, migration, energy, investment, and deeper regional cooperation under the #PactfortheMediterranean.

Had an excellent discussion with Prime Minister @JafarHassan in Amman 🇯🇴 on the strength of our partnership and our shared priorities for the future.

We focused on maintaining momentum and delivering on our ambitious 🇪🇺-🇯🇴 Strategic and Comprehensive Partnership - from investment and connectivity to energy, economic cooperation, and opportunities for young people. Today’s signature of new agreements reflects this shared commitment.

We also discussed preparations for the upcoming EU-Jordan Investment Conference and our cooperation on #IMEC.

Under the #PactfortheMediterranean, we will continue expanding cooperation that delivers for citizens and businesses on all shores of the Mediterranean.

Today in Amman, I had the honour of inaugurating a new 🇪🇺-supported school - and as a former teacher, seeing the smiles of the children and their enthusiastic teachers was truly inspiring.

With €260 million, I’m proud that the 🇪🇺-🇯🇴 partnership is delivering - ensuring all children, including those with disabilities and those who sought refuge, can access education.

And this is just the beginning: under the #PactfortheMediterranean, we will continue investing in young generations, including through initiatives like the Mediterranean University.
