“Prima volta seduto in sala, vero Ted?”. È la battuta più esilarante della Notte degli Oscar 2026 che ha visto trionfare P.T. Anderson e il suo film Una battaglia dopo l’altra. Ed è il conduttore Conan O’Brien a dirla nel suo classico monologo di apertura. Tra l’ennesimo tormentone su Timothée Chalamet (“La sicurezza è molto rigida stasera. C’è il timore di attacchi da parte delle comunità del balletto e dell’opera. Sono solo arrabbiati perché hai escluso il jazz”) e una rocambolesca introduzione travestito da Amy Madigan in Weapons (miglior attrice non protagonista), O’Brien ha coinvolto direttamente la rara presenza fisica di Ted Sarandos, il patron di Netflix.

“Il CEO di Netflix, Ted Sarandos, è qui ed è emozionante: è la prima volta che vai in una sala, vero Ted?”, ha scherzato O’Brien. Poi, mettendosi per un attimo nei panni di Sarandos e della mentalità Netflix del guardare i film da casa, ha affondato il colpo: “Sarà lì che si chiederà (Sarandos ndr): perché tutta questa gente è qui in sala a divertirsi insieme?! Perché non dovrebbero stare a casa sul divano da soli a vedere film?”. Sarandos non ha fatto una piega e, facendo buon viso a cattivo gioco, si è prodotto in una risatona da… Oscar.

“No alla guerra. Palestina libera”. Il vero anelito politico alla 98esima Notte degli Oscar lo porta Javier Bardem. L’attore spagnolo, ormai leader mondiale pro Pal tra i propri colleghi a tutti gli effetti, sale sul palco del Dolby Theatre per premiare il miglior film internazionale: il Sentimental Value del regista “nerd” (sua definizione, ndr) Joachim Trier. Tra questi non c’è solo Un semplice incidente dell’iraniano Jafar Panahi, ma anche The Voice of Hind Rajab, il docudrama di Kaouther Ben Hania incentrato sull’uccisione di una bimba palestinese a Gaza da parte dell’esercito israeliano.

Bardem si presenta in scena già con un’enorme scritta rossa sul bavero della giacca, con messaggi contro la guerra e a favore dei palestinesi. Poi, una volta al microfono, la voce possente e perentoria invita alla pace e alla liberazione di Gaza da Israele. Bardem è stato l’unico a portare all’attenzione della platea e degli spettatori la tragedia del popolo palestinese. Qualche cenno alla questione russa c’è stato durante la premiazione del documentario Mr. Nobody Against Putin, mentre sia P.T. Un film senza capo né coda, che solo nella parte finale ha qualcosa da dire e si redime solo parzialmente

Capisco l'idea di fondo, ma è un pastiche frastagliato e impulsivo, che sembra voler omaggiare la tradizione dei film più istintivi e sregolati, e finisce per trasformare quell’energia in un caos meno ispirato che incisivo

Si vede sempre la stoffa del grande regista dietro, ma davvero peccato 😞
