@raccoon granted, #Valve did already commit themselves to it being "open like a PC" so they can't sell at a loss. They at least need to break even in terms of cost to avoid businesses like datacenters to go: "Hey, that's pretty good!" and order like 1000+...
- My University did that with the #PS3 and ran them as clusters becaude even tho #YellowDogLinux and any #OtherOS only gets 2 threads, the #Cell was still a competent and affordable #ppc64 machine that one could use #MPI and do #clustering at full blast without breaking a sweat. And mind you #Sony lost out €100+ just in parts cost on every PS3 phat sold at launch because winning the #FormatWar with #BluRay against #HDDVD was more important long-term.

PunaWe have liftoff! And quite literally actually - the fans are *screaming* at me. 
Picked up porting #NixOS to #ppc64 again ~ early Summer or so. Life has certainly been easier ever since I gave up on glibc w/ ELFv2 and just started focusing on using ELFv1 instead.
I certainly wouldn't wanna try to actually run `nixos-install` right now - it'll prolly just brick the Debian installation that I'm using as a host for these shenanigans. But chances are higher that this'll get somewhere this time! 
EvaYesterday evening I unceremoniously and sadly deleted, one by one, every app every photo every video and every document - all data from icloud - using a lovely pink iPad Mini.
The day before was the same, for several iphones, then a purged Apple Watch too. The laptops were before, long ago. My favorite was the 1Ghz Titanium G4 PowerBook - I'll always miss that perfection.
So, goodbye to modern Apple Inc. I loved your ways and means, your engineering prowess, industrial design, and the inspiration in every direction offered over so many decades.
I'm keeping the water-cooled Quad Core G5 PowerMac (PPC64 970MP A1177). You can attempt to pry it from my cold dead hands alongside a GP101... but please do not touch that one last, beautiful, and forever best example of IBM + Apple innovation - before Apple leadership sold out to Intel, pushed upon every emacs user the worthless Touchbar, and the scissor-chicklet keyboards with a lawsuit. But never forget Liquidass, crowning achievement and example of Apple's downfall.
How sad; sorry about your demise, Apple. I'll miss who you once were.

There's a reason I only considered architectures to build @OS1337 against that are "obtainable" and I'll prioritize those that I have in my possession and that can be cheaply acquired, which as of writing are about 12 build targets across 5 distinct ISAs ( #i486 and up, #amd64, #ARMv5r11, #ARMv7, #ppc64) , with only 1 (#i486SX) being currently in focus and the next one being the #Pi0 / #Pi0W who's code will run (abeit not performant) on the #Pi0W2 as well...
- All 3 #PiZero|s can be had for like €100 in total with shipping and SD-Cards so it's on-par with a useable #amd64 machine like a #ThinClient with proper SSD and RAM...
Also unlike any other #SBC manufacturer @raspberry_pi / #RaspberryPi actually write proper #documentation and not just fart out some random bootable image file and tell users to feck off!
Profoundly NerdyGiven the open source nature of Open Firmware, I'm surprised features like USB boot capability haven't been backported to older New World Macs by the community.
I have no idea if current builds would fit on 1 MB ROM present in New World Macs, or how much headroom there is for deployment of a modern OFW ROM image for even more ambitious projects without resorting to hardware mods.
