If I had one wish, I would like to see a version of PHPStorm that uses the resources on my PC more sparingly and does not bring my CPU to a boil.

Ne pirmas kartas, bet visvien liūdna ir pikta, kad komercinis produktas, už kurį pats mokėjau, vietomis būna toks gaidys.
in the meantime, I don't see any reason not to address @brendt's argument about standards... but this could definitely be dealt with by the maintainers of those tools with support of #PHPStorm...
Heck... they could even agree to build a common transpiler (as suggested by @Girgias), but that would force transpilation BEFORE deployment of the code

Anyone using PHPStorm (2026.1.2) having a pointer for me as to where to look or what to change? On my Fedora Linux System the "double shift"-search feature no longer works: Pressing shift twice simply doesn't do anything anymore.
I'm not aware of having changed any settings, but of course that does not mean anything I guess...
