#PGPDay we're going to set up enigmail now. It's the thing that connects PGP to email.

choose "prefer standard"
it will ask you to type in a passphrase. Since we are doing this for fun, choose a simple one.
It will take a while to generate a key.

Don't bother with a revocation certificate. The purpose of that is, you can announce your key is compromised. If we were serious, we'd generate this, & put it on a USB stick & store is somewhere.

If it makes you generate one, then do it &ignore it.

#PGPDay In Thunderbird, click the hamburger bar and choose addons

Click "extensions" and then search for "enigmail" and install it.

#PGPDay go back to Thunderbird and put in your information and click through. You should be connected to your email in Thunderbird.

so, GMX locked me out of my account because their password form validation doesn't handle pasting correctly. So I'm going to have to create another email somewhere else to continue. But if you have problems logging into GMX from Thunderbird, let me know and I'll help.
