I adapted the #I2S Pinout for the #DECtalk Mini from the #MAX98357A Board to my NanoPi Nanohat #PCM5102A
Sounds much louder as the PWM-Version :)
The Board is a #Waveshare RP2040 Zero

Share a ground with the #PCM5102A chip. Audio channel to resistor to ADC. Easy.

Still going to tweak a few things before I figure out where to situate it on the case.

Also need to figure out the keyboard connector ... cuz I wanna have that ... out.

Stereo audio out [3.5mm, am not using the 8-pin din for that].

Should I do more pixels for this? Maybe like the entire area between the logo and the power button? <w<

Ahhhhh the sense of accomplishment when you get a mod working is sooooo goood >////<

I only had to solder like 7 things for this lmao - the #PCM5102A DAC was [partially] prebuilt, and the #SKPico A5 to CPU pin 12 was a breeze.

The real challenge was cycling through firmware builds & versions until I landed on something that worked...!
