Does anyone know if an NVidia RTX 4060 can handle an Mk1D MinION with runtime basecalling? ONT's documentation says that the minimum requirement is an RTX 5060, but this sounds a bit crazy. And the difference between the two GPUs is not that big I think.

Also, this will mostly be for dRNA-seq, where we basecall after the run, so would it be okay to run two MinIONs in parallel (without basecalling)?

In case any other MinION users haven't heard yet (it was news to me this morning!)

You should protect your flowcell from ambient light once the library's loaded. Ten minutes of light exposure impairs the yield, especially R10.4.1 (see link below for details)

Light shields are to be shipped with flowcells in future, but you can probably figure out a way to run your MinION in the dark in the meantime if necessary 😊

Die Daten zu den verschiedenen SarsCoV2 Varianten, stammen von quasi jeder aktuell existenten Methode. Sowohl long und short reads als auch gepolishte Daten. Mithilfe der #bioinf konnten all diese Daten kombiniert werden, obwohl die Techniken teils sehr unterschiedlich sind.

Wer sich eingehender zu den aktuell genutzten Techniken informieren will, ist bei #illumina, #pacbio und #oxfordnanopore sequencing gut aufgehoben.
