This is terrific news. Experienced hillwalker or not, at 76 and with some atrocious weather hitting pretty challenging terrain I was fearing the worst when news of the search was first announced.

This is lovely to see. Hiking and rambling is a disproportionately white activity in the UK and many other places. When I worked in the USA as an outdoors activity instructor I spoke to black students about it and was told that "black people just don't do that stuff." Partly it was cultural, partly it was a sense of not being welcome.
No mention of whether the half-pint hound was carrying a miniature of brandy.
