Just learned about #outdoorEd in #california. This is fantastic that there has actually been a program to get out of the boxed-in classroom and teach kids about the real world in the official education system.

Stevens Creek Nature Preserve is our own little slice of heaven, just five minutes from our house in Matthews, North Carolina. (OK, so it’s technically a shared natural space, but since we get to use it for hikes whenever we want, we feel a bit of ownership now! And stewardship!)

At Vanderpoel Garden, a project of Get Them to the Green we're in our third growing season, and over 60 students, each year, have access to urban agriculture education through the educators at Gardeneers. My advice is: inspiring people to get involved with your cause is one of the most important things you can do because you can't do it alone. If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together. Build a team! Ask for help! I'm most excited for the energy around climate action from young groups, including Sunrise, around the country.
