A fairly successful family trip out to the shopping centre. My only bum notes are my water coming open in my purse (so everything getting an unwanted wash), and my bi pride necklace appears to have vanished. Oh no, I guess I'll just make another one. I mean, obviously, annoying to lose one of the original attempts at it, but ah well.

Past that, everyone survived. We'd originally pencilled in grabbing dinner while we were out, but eldest was more than ready to go home. More than fair. We managed to have Taco Bell for lunch, so we achieved one of our dining objectives (and unsurprisingly, the quality of the food is significantly higher here than the US).

Right. Need to quit mainlining this bag of taffy I bought and think about doing chores. xD

Finally, the rain stopped, the grey skies turned blue, the sun came out and so did everyone else.
It seemed a lot of people had the same idea and even though it was still on the chilly side, the chance to get out of the house and not get a drenching was too good an opportunity to be wasted.
On Sunderland's seafront in NE England, it was high tide just after midday, so while the beaches were largely covered, the promenade was an ideal place to partake in a perambulation.

Walking up to the bookshop today, I'm overtaken by one of the men who works at the local railway station. He gives me a broad, surprised grin, and tells me he's going to collect his car from the garage. I say I'm going to the bookshop to order a book, and he tells me he's gradually buying beloved books of the past in hardback "because they're just nicer to read!"

A nice little human interaction, warmth on a bitter and drizzly day.

East Lothian’s coast is beautiful! Cycled from Edinburgh to North Berwick today - mild, spring-like weather and loads of people out and about! Did a quick stop in Longniddry for a bit of rest on the way back and just took in the views.
