Pintando a Ío.

O mejor dicho, reales e imaginados.

▴ Sarakiniko Beach

Otherworldly rock formations at Sarakiniko Beach on Milos during dusk. The white volcanic rocks, sculpted by wind and water over time, have also earned it the nickname 'Moon Beach'. It’s one of Milos’ most popular spots, not only for its unique appearance but also for the cliffs that attract cliff jumpers.

As the sun begins to set, most of the crowds tend to leave. This, combined with the low-angle light then, that beautifully accentuates the textured surface of the rocks, makes the experience even more magical and immersive than during the day. Since our apartment was nearby, we ended up spending almost every sunset here during our stay on Milos – and it never got old!

#MythologyMonday #WorldOceansDay2025: `The enchanted isle of Tír na nÓg could be reached through burial mounds or caverns, travelling over the sea for three days, whether on a boat or on Manannán's magical horse Aonbharr which could travel over land and sea, or by passing through mists in the right place and at the right time.
The sea way to Tír na nÓg was called the honey road, the path made by the sun through Moy Mell, the Plain of Honey. But visitors to this land should beware, for time passed differently in this #Otherwordly place – three days might be three years back in the old world, and someone returning to the earth might find a burden of centuries landing on them all at once!` #Celtic

#MythologyMonday #WorldOceansDay2025: `There were many wonders on the fabled #Otherwordly island of Tír na nÓg, such as a well where salmon swim under a grove of nine hazels, from which hung an enchanted drinking horn. A huge tree with birds singing beautiful music in its branches stood in the centre of this land of the young. Legends speak of cities and fortresses made of jewels and precious metals, and houses thatched with the colourful feathers of exotic birds, and a bright plain of flowers humming with bees amid the forested wilderness.` #Celtic
