I think the best plant stakes I have are these ones scavenged from a collapsed gazebo! ๐

@alpenglow I really like this!
It reminds me a lot of the quick test jigs we used to build in the 80-90's. Except substitute jigsaw, drill and Sharpies for the laser cutter ๐
It also reminds me of this scoreboard that I scavenged from #OtherPeoplesGarbage because it intrigued me when I saw it. ๐
@jrconlin this is now your fault! ๐
(referring to the PVC conduit not Ben and his stroller ๐)
I could have likely walked by this 'free to grab' end of the driveway temptation if I hadn't seen your post before the stroller tour!
Nah. Who am I kidding? I would have grabbed it anyway ๐คฃ
Today's episode of #OtherPeoplesGarbage
I guess I now have a buffing wheel once I replace the degraded AC plug and put on a new disc ๐
Even better, the lawn chair just visible to the right was a result of yesterday's scavenging efforts ๐
What my neighbor saw:
His old, now useless to him electric trailer tongue leveler/stand
What I saw:
12VDC, very high payload, 9-12 inch throw linear actuator
Which I'm sure I can build something with. But currently have no idea what that might be
๐ค๐ค๐ค
One of my buddies who does home renos is one of my #OtherPeoplesGarbage scouts.
After a bit of back and forth about price with the house owner, I said that I didn't want it.
Yesterday at 5pm I got the truck picture below with the caption 'It's on its way!'. Owner decided if I was interested I may as well just have it!
So. I now have the frame and pans for a *huge* hydroponics system! No way I can set that up in the basement. ๐
@catselbow it's the same way we become the family/friend computer repair person.
In my case also local BBQ consultant, 'dog whisperer', smarthome, 'I'm buying new electronics' guy...
In return though, they know of my #OtherPeoplesGarbage thing so they'll generally send me a picture of something 'interesting' before they ๐๏ธ it
Also let their immediate neighbors know about it. I found a way to selectively make the garbage come to me ๐
And two of my neighbors do home renovation for a living.
For my own sanity and possibly yours in dealing with my stuff.

I'm sitting beside another #OtherPeoplesGarbage project from last year. This involved some serious transformation rather than being more 'found items' like my previous use of the tag.
Made four 6 foot by 3 foot raised beds from a pair of fence gates someone was throwing out. Just enough wood (by design). I only had to provide long wood screws and battery charges for the hand tools.
