Die Gesundheitsminister der Länder und Ärzte-Vertreter wollen, dass jeder Bundesbürger potenziell ein Organspender ist, sofern man nicht ausdrücklich widerspricht. Zum Tag der Organspende drängen sie auf einen neuen politischen Anlauf.
Der Medizinische Vorstand der Deutschen Stiftung Organtransplantation (DSO), Axel Rahmel, hat die neue Bundesregierung dazu aufgerufen, die Diskussion über die Einführung der Widerspruchsregelung bei der Organspende zügig wiederaufzunehmen.
Ein Mann aus Michigan erhält eine lebenswichtige Organspende. Doch nur kurze Zeit später stirbt er. Die Ursache findet sich schnell im Spenderorgan. Es ist mit Tollwut infiziert. Einen ähnlichen Fall gab es auch vor Jahren in Deutschland.
