Touching down lightly here to say, Happy New Year! I cannot believe it has been so long since I posted here. Though I post often on IG, a habit I suppose, I am not so often on here. I love this platform but it stopped working on my phone, that is probably why. How is everyone?!

In my catching up mode, here are three good things...

1. My #HouseReno is coming along beautifully and the #RetainingWall I was so worried about is being reconstructed today. Though it was supposed to all be done by the middle of last August, a combination of delays, weather and adding more items to the scope, have extended the schedule. It's OK. I love it.
2. I'm well into my doctorate in business admin program (focus on #OrganizationalLeadership) and really enjoying it. For the most of each of the days and weeks leading up to an assignment being due, I feel like I'm grappling with concepts (I don't have an MBA; this is a #DBA). Then, in the hours before, during and after submitting an assignment, I think, "wow, that wasn't hard at all." I am learning!
3. Work is fascinating, daily, and I feel so fortunate to be connected to bright, solutions-focused people working in architecture and engineering. My projects are now spanning two countries and involving more #CarbonModeling and #Sustainability oversight. I do a lot of quality control reviews of #HistoricRestoration / #AdaptiveReuse sustainability-related projects. It is emerging.

Nearly a year ago, I wrote this blogpost on why
#equity & #inclusion does not belong in human resources. It is one of the most read blog posts. I haven't written much this year, but I suggest you have a read.

Equity & inclusion does not belong in human resources — Urban Equity Consulting Services

While I am not currently involved in this work, through my own research, I have come to find that too many times that this work reports into human resources departments or other areas […]

"People don't quit jobs, they quit bad managers" has never been more contemporaneously evident to me than Muskrat's handling of The Bird Site and I hope more CEOs and managers recognize this for the #CaseStudy it is. #OrganizationalLeadership #ChangeManagement #OrganizationalCulture
