After much deliberation, I'm finally setting up a large (128 gb) orchestral template with VE Pro 7.
But the biggest puzzle with templates is dynamics – balancing mod, CC7 and CC11. How much headroom do I need for the most dramatic crescendos?
For now, I've started with default values maxed out at 127, so I'll know where the ceiling is for each instrument right away. This way, I can adjust the pp's and mf's accordingly.
