Les irréductibles orangistes du Pontiac

Shawville, en Outaouais. À quelques pas de l’école secondaire, de l’imprimerie et de l’hôtel de ville, l’Union Jack est hissé au-dessus d’un petit bâtiment blanc. Il s’agit du quartier général de la loge d’Orange, un groupe fraternel religieux protestant qui s’est installé dans le Pontiac vers la fin du 19e siècle. Au Québec, il ne reste que deux loges actives: une à Kinnear’s Mills, dans la région de Chaudière-Appalaches, et celle-ci qui, depuis 1843, se trouve à quelque 80 km à l’ouest de Gatineau.

Bit of a different question today. Does anyone have intel on possible connections between orange and Freemason lodge (specifically in New Zealand)?
We got given some of my partner’s grandfather’s things. Amongst them were three swords. We know he was a member of the orange lodge, but a picture search says they are more likely to be Freemason.

Orangemen celebration heading south on Dufferin at Springfield in TTC buses for a Loyal Orange Lodge rally on Exhibition grounds 99 years ago today, on July 11, 1925. The Canada Metal Company still sells babbitt metal to this day - that ad keeps paying for itself.
