Also, related question, but more for other kinds of nerds ig. Do you think blue light blocking glasses are worth it, or should I save my money on that too? Like, I currently wear blue light blocking glasses, and I didn't notice a huge difference since I started wearing them, but maybe they are good for me, and I don't wanna hurt my sleep or anything. Like, I think it could help, since I spend a lot of time on my devices like my phone and various computers.

Question for any nerds out there who might know more than me. I'm getting another pair of glasses from Zenni, and they're offering their infrared light blocking glasses called Zenni ID Guard. From what I see from their marketing, this seems like it might be good, since they say it blocks the infrared light that can be used to track your face. But, tbh, idk if that's just marketing bullshit, or something that actually meaningfully improves privacy. So like, would you recommend these, or should I just save my money?

Dry Eye ... saw a sign at eye doctor's office listing its many symptoms. One symptom of "dry eye" is apparently "watery eyes."

Gotta love medicine, right?

👀😄 An optometrist confirms crossing your eyes won't get stuck, but involuntary crossing can signal serious health issues like stroke or farsightedness.

A lady came in yesterday for a LASIK evaluation. Getting dilated is part of this evaluation. Getting dilated is also part of a normal yearly exam, however patients sometimes refuse it. Anyway, she had been seen one month prior by our optometrist and was then referred to us for the LASIK eval. She is 48 and she can’t have LASIK….because she has the beginnings of cataracts, which would have been seen a month ago had she not refused dilation. It turns out, after some investigating, she hadn’t been dilated since 2020. Ridiculous.

Y’all get dilated. So what if it’s an inconvenience to your day, it’s the best way to see the health of the back of the eye. If you go somewhere that doesn’t dilate, find somewhere that does. People complain about so much…I hate drops in my eye, the dilation lasts too long, etc. STFU. NO ONE likes drops put in their eye, so be an adult and deal with it. #ophthalmology #optometry #eyehealth #eyes
