That's why European organisations (& even national governments) should leverage their Invitations To Tender (ITT) and only accept submissions made using ODF formats (which all office suites can produce/edit/read).
Using open formats truly is a little 'price' for companies to pay, when they get hundreds of thousands or even millions € with an ITT.

Nice to see Cambridge University Libraries urge the use of open (non-proprietary) file formats:

In a mad dash to a client meeting, I made my first presentation in @ia Presenter.
I spent ninety-eight percent of my time shaping my message and two percent clumsily navigating a foreign UI. I spent zero percent on presentation layout and formatting. That part was done automatically and looked great.

I'm excited because I've seen several well-intentioned authors who have only made their open / OER textbook available as PDFs, or worse, ask you to "just clone it in Pressbooks". Not all of us have academic Pressbooks accounts.

had to configure #windows today and after downloading exe-files from the internet, i installed stuff like #notepadpp, #7zip, #vlc,… all the things i know from the long gone past came back to me.it gave me chill seeing these win3.11 dialogues again and the different fonts, blurry or broken anti-aliasing, i don't know.
I am so happy to be able to work on #linux only. A #floss system that brings all base applications, works #ootb and supports #openFormats by default.
…and it has a package manager
