Before reinstall:
proprietary driver available.
After clean reinstall:
driver path gone.
Reason:
NVIDIA’s “open kernel modules” exist — but only for #RTX.
Older #GPUs are excluded from the maintained stack.
Arch simply reflects upstream policy.
Support ends, hardware still works.
Replacement encouraged.
Open #drivers for older GPUs were possible.
They were not provided.
This is not a configuration issue.
This is vendor strategy.
