Yeah, should we say - ABOUT DAMN TIME.
Having the *privilege* of a 2023 Surface Laptop for work, let me tell you its fucking painful.
- 50% RAM is used by the time the fucking think JUST STARTED WITH NO APPS OPEN.
- SnippingTool has CoPilot? WTF
- btw the only app I WANT Ai to summarize, pull information together #OneNote DOES NOT HAVE IT !!!
- FileExplorer flickers / loads forever.
- And don’t get me started on the „X“ button having a different shade of red in EVERY APP you build! HOLY SHIT

I'm hating the new OneNote.

It could at least look cute if it was going to be this painful to use. I'll forgive a LOT for a cute aesthetic.

Eine deutschlandweite Organisation hat sich ein Webinar zu #OneNote gewünscht. In rund 2 1/2 Stunden habe ich den Kolleg*innen heute Lust auf die Software gemacht – inkl. Live-Demo und praktischer Übung.

💜 Die Rückmeldungen waren fantastisch. Alle sehen das Potenzial der digitalen Notizbücher für Selbstorganisation und Zusammenarbeit.

Over the past four months, two distinct groups of my family had the sudden and urgent need to organize, exchange files and share knowledge. Despite all demographic and other differences, both independent groups decided to go with Microsoft tools (OneNote and OneDrive).
Both were offered ready-to-go working alternatives and have – some more, some less – awareness of even more alternatives.

Don't shoot the messenger, but we aren't there yet. Open source tooling has still a long way to go.

Once my pessimism calms down again, I'll come up with a more progressive lesson-learned.
