Watching the leadup to the #CanWNT game in the #SheBelievesCup. As a ⚽️ fan, I am really proud of the role of #ForgeFC and the #CPL getting #MackenzieBarwell front and centre on #OneSoccer, beside Kristian Jack.

Mac has talent and drive. She had 2 great seasons with the #CanPL squad as the in-game talent, as well as great sideline interviews and of course her #BehindTheBeard sitdowns with Bobby Smyrniotis, as a #McMasterU undergrad. She also went to #MilanCortina at the Winter university games in 2025.

#CanPL provides training grounds for not just athletes and coaches in #Canada but media and other support areas. Physios in training get exposed in placements (under supervision) in professional sport.

Overtime (of course). I’m not saying it’s cold on the field, but David Rodríguez just cut open a Tauntaun and crawled inside. #CPL #OneSoccer

For those looking to fill in your free time between #PORFRA at #Euro2024 and #VENCAN at ##CopaAmerica #OneSoccer has put tonight's game on #YouTube for free. Should be a great game. I can't watch on the screen because I will be there 😆

Not sure if it is regionally/nationally blocked.

I don't think there's anything particularly interesting here, but I hope this is getting us one step closer to more Canadian soccer in places where people can see it.

Canadian Soccer Business, Mediapro settle lawsuit, agree to part ways at end of year | CBC Sports

Canadian Soccer Business and Mediapro have settled their legal differences with an agreement that will see the two parties go their separate ways at the end of the year.

Heading out to the game this afternoon.
Hopefully, the weather cooperates.
If you are watching on #OneSoccer, I'll be the guy in orange.

@hewer_of_code I won't be able to watch on #OneSoccer.

I have to be somewhere.

The Canadian #soccer world is in a bit of an upheaval, as far as broadcasting our FIFA Tier 1 league, the Canadian Premier League (#CanPL, #CPL) , #CanMNT and #CanWNT games.

Canada Soccer Business, which is the primary owner of all broadcasting rights for #CanPL games, and all national team games has severed its relationship with #MediaPro and #Onesoccer, the broadcasting and production company that broadcast (and produced) all the coverage of these games.

Just a few weeks before the start of the Canadian Premier League season...

Apparently, MediaPro is broke, and couldn't pay the licensing fee in the fifth year of their 10 year deal with CSB.

For fans, this means watching these soccer matches on television / streaming is completely in limbo.

If you have a OneSoccer subscription, cancel it ASAP. If you have a #Fubo subscription just to get the CanPL games (like I did), also cancel it. Fubo is $60 a quarter ($240 a year), and not cheap (it's almost double the price of F1 TV)

#CanadaSoccer

So two months before the start of the season, #CanPL has no broadcaster as Canada Soccer Business and Mediapro / #OneSoccer start what appears to be a messy divorce. Lovely.
And what do they do? They get the smash-and-grab win at Halifax! It took a few crossbars, a lot of desperate defending and some "strategic clock management" in the last 10 minutes but they got the 1-0 win at Halifax #PacificFC #ForTheIsle #MastodonFC #CanPL Sometimes watching on #OneSoccer is great because the small stadiums and basic TV broadcast setups mean that the on-field mics pick up a lot specific comments

Official numbers give HFX the higher possession for the half, and #OneSoccer claims they've looked more dangerous throughout.

I don't entirely agree with that analysis, but talking heads gotta talk.

Basic lesson: Ottawa needs to pull the trigger, as they are lining up to shoot. When the opportunity is there, stop passing and shoot it.

They get in the right spots often enough, but they just haven't been taking the opportunities. If they had, I think the pundits would have a different view.
