I did not know about the One Missed Call manga, written by Yasushi Akimoto. Actually I never been interested in Mangas, but now... I would like to have this one soon ! Need to learn how to read such books!

Far from the most original of the J-horror films, but elevated by Takashi Miike's direction and the performances of its leads. My ★★★½ review of One Missed Call (2003) on Letterboxd: https://boxd.it/7LY6Wp #Horror #OneMissedCall JHorror #Letterboxd
A ★★★½ review of One Missed Call (2003)

A nasty little and neat take on the J-horror tropes, One Missed Call is the kind of film you could identify its director from without knowing. Takashi Miike’s voice drips across the whole of this ghost story, reveling in its dark themes and featuring a few pleasant (or unpleasant, depending on how you view it) twists and turns along the way. The movie, coming a bit later in the J-horror cycle, could easily feel like it found its gimmick and then just inserted the standard conventions of the subgenre. We have a piece of technology and a countdown – here
