The #IMF said the #legislation runs counter to its advice that the #US should be working to shrink its fiscal #deficits over the medium term.

“From the IMF side, we have been consistent in saying that the US will need to reduce its fiscal deficit over time to put public #debt to #GDP on a decisive downward path,” Julie Kozack said.

Kozack noted that there’s broad agreement that the #Republican bill would likely increase the US fiscal deficit.
