This could have been avoided... Had we not pumped the "Omicron is mild" hopium worldwide. The largely unvaccinated population in China is hit quite hard, and the ICUs are filling... "The mildness" was merely an effect of immunity...

People are confusing the terms “pandemic” & “lockdown”

The world “locked down”
in March 2020

Mask mandates later in 2020 & lasted til early 2021

Just because there’s no lockdown & no mask mandates, does NOT mean the pandemic is “over”

People should be saying “post-lockdown” or “post-mandates”, rather than “post-pandemic”

Using accurate terms that reflect reality (and not giving people the false impression that “CoViD iS oVeR”) is one of the ways to be an ally to #immunocompromised / #HighRiskCOVID19 people
