#DefendResearch is hosting weekly Action Hours throughout June to help people submit comments about the latest OMB proposed regulation changes ("Regulation for Federal Financial Assistance") that would have disastrous consequences for research, and thus all of us. While we are not experts in federal regulation comment submission, we have pulled together and will be sharing key resources created by the scholarly community to make it easy for all of us to take this important action. This includes guidance from former NIH Senior Program Officer Elizabeth Ginexi, who offered this advice: "You do not need to be an expert. You need to describe, in your own words, how your community, your program, your state, or your work depends on stable, merit-based federal grants and what it would mean to lose that. Cite the specific section that would hurt your community."

For those who prefer we not allow the psychotically ideological OMB to lobotomize the US scientific research establishment, here's a way of channeling that sentiment to an influential organization where it'll be organized into traction.

[AGU is targeting research practitioners but for the rest of us reading and adopting many of AGU's content tips affords an excellent way to help make a letter to a legislator better]

And of course, US citizens should contact their congressional reps. Just google that-- it's even easier than just standing on the tracks like a cow and getting run over by a thundering locomotive of greed and ignorance.

Better than howling catharsis into the void.
