In July 2025, #Olha_Dolha from #Dobropillia in #Donetsk region lost her leg in a #Russian airstrike. Since then, #Olha has undergone several surgeries and is now undergoing rehabilitation in #Lviv, learning to walk with a prosthesis.

Today, #Crimean_Tatar #Ruslan_Kurtmallaiev returned home from #Russian captivity and spoke with his wife by phone for the first time.
The Defender was taken prisoner in April 2022 during the defence of #Mariupol. Throughout this time, his wife #Olha - who is battling cancer and has stage IV lymphoma - was waiting for him.

The person who was clearing snow during the #Russian attack on #Lviv is a beautiful, courageous woman named #Olha.
"I cleaned the bus stop. I didn't know a #Shahed drone was going to fly in. The police officer told us to run away," she said.
Miraculously, she remained unharmed, and after the explosion, she continued her work.

Mrs #Olha attended all prisoner exchanges, hoping that her son #Yevhenii, a marine who has been in captivity since April 2022, would return.
Finally, on August 24, Mrs #Olha was able to hug her son.
She always brought a #vyshyvanka, a #Ukrainian embroidered shirt, to the exchanges with her. #Yevhenii put it on as soon as he stepped off the bus and saw his mom.
