@TTimo What dance with package managers did I miss? I've been using Python professionally for nearly 12 years and I never used anything other than pip.

I've grown weary with hypes and with the pattern where something is supposed to be better, purely because it was built in Rust. However new and shiny uv may be, I expect it to be less mature than pip right now. I will wait for time to tell me which is really better.

(Been there with jQuery and Angular (yes really), Underscore and Lodash, npm and yarn, and maybe one or two more. All JavaScript examples, but suffice to say that I've learned my lesson now. #OldIsGold.)
