The little girl on the left holding the doll is my grandmother. She would be 114 today. She did make it to 92 and was the only grandparent I knew well. The little baby beside her is the next sister after her, Claudie.

Laloofah1/2 One of my fav old family photos is this one of my husband’s granduncle Homer in 1910, age 8. I think of #HuckleberryFinn when I see it; coincidentally, Homer’s initials were also H.F. and he was born and raised in Missouri (though not in Hannibal. Born in tiny McKittrick, this was taken when he lived in Gasconade). Looks like he should be whittling, and as it happens he went to college in St. Louis on a woodworking scholarship but studied electrical engineering…
