Bead Society of Great BritainA rare coral ojime bead of a shishi (guardian lion) from 19thC Japan.
It's body is vigorously twisted to the right as it bites it's haunch, forming a compact composition in pale, slightly-mottled pink coral. The ojime is unsigned and measures approx 2.2cm. Sold at auction by Bonhams, London, November 2011
