Going through pictures taken on the #Swiss🇨🇭#RhB Rhaetische Bahn network in the early 2000s. There’s for instance this #RhB #DiningCar number #WR3815, metre-gauge and able to travel on the rack and pinion section on the #FO #Oberalp Pass. The train is the “Glacier Express” and the diner goes as far as #Andermatt, according to the train destination patch.

A short consist, just four cars including a @diningcar style service car, for this #GlacierExpress🇨🇭 to St. Moritz. A 1970s class Deh4/4 #MGB narrow-gauge unit, originally part of the #BVZ (for Brig-Visp-Zermatt) fleet, will work the train over the rack railway sections of the #Furka and #Oberalp line.

Today a photo of the #Furka-#Oberalp narrow-gauge rack and pinion railcar BDeh2/4 #41 at the railway’s #Brig Glisergrund workshops. This unit was built in the early 1940s.
The #Lötschberg line is visible right above the engine shed.

#Andermatt🇨🇭 is at the heart of the #BVZ #FO #RhB narrow-gauge line stretching from #Zermatt to #St_Moritz. On the photo taken in August 2005: a Deh4/4 II railcar (right) and the HGe4/4 33 electric (left). The latter one, built in the 1940s, is about to depart for the #Oberalp Pass.
