I watched the Neill Blomkamp short film "Rakka" again recently.

The alien design was unnerving at times, but the short isn't as polished as other Blomkamp outings such as Elysium or District 9. There isn't enough time to let the characters develop. However, it is a proof of concept.

At 21 minutes, it is worth a watch.

Hmm, hab mir diese Woche häppchenweise die #OatsStudios-Kurzfilme auf Netflix reingezogen. Ziemlich gemischte Tüte. Folgen 1, 2 und 5 ("Rakka", "Firebase", "Zygote") sind großartig, Nr. 7 und 8 ("ADAM") sowie 10 ("Kapture: Locust") noch in Ordnung, aber bei allen anderen fünf musste ich ob der Tropes/Umsetzung arg mit dem Kopf schütteln. Kann man Folge Nr. 9 überhaupt "Kurzfilm" nennen? Das sind doch nur isolierte Szenen ...
