So the Oxford University Press Word of the year is "rage bait" which narrowly fought off aura farming and biohack. Last year it was brainrot. Humanity's relationship with social media clearly isn't healthy. We need to show more discernment in our reading procurement. I do not get it. Why should I (or my institution) pay for this? Why isn't it possible to read the normal PDFs online? Why do they put the cut out figures into their PDFs?Why this small font?
I guess the idea is that they want to sell the physical book to me. But I have a complete room full of books. I do not want any further paper books. I want nice looking searchable PDFs on my hard disk.
And why can't I download the book in one go? #OUP is really unsexy as a publisher.
